If the freezer itself is running warmer than expected, the issue may involve the refrigeration system rather than the ice maker alone.
Cloudy ice can result from dissolved minerals or trapped air and does not necessarily indicate an appliance failure. Different ice-making methods also produce different levels of clarity.
Taste or odor can be influenced by the water supply, filter condition, stored food or ice that has remained in the bin for a long time.
