Thermador traces its history to 1916 and has played a long role in the development of built-in and professional-style residential kitchens. Thermador's published heritage timeline includes the introduction of an early built-in wall oven and matching cooktop in 1947, a professional-style range in 1948, an all-stainless-steel dishwasher in 1962, a self-cleaning oven in 1963 and later innovations in induction, steam cooking and modular refrigeration.

Thermador is known for professional-style residential cooking appliances, built-in refrigeration and distinctive technologies such as the Star® Burner and Freedom® Induction. Products span Professional and Masterpiece® design expressions alongside appliance-specific families such as Pro Harmony®, Pro Grand®, Freedom® Refrigeration and the Radiance Dishwasher Collection.

    Applicable gas ranges, rangetops and gas cooktops use the patented Pedestal Star® Burner design to increase flame-port coverage around the cookware. Output varies by appliance, burner position and model. Induction appliances do not use Star® Burners.
  • Freedom®, Liberty® & Heritage Induction
    Freedom® uses a flexible surface with multiple inductors that detect cookware position, size and shape. Liberty® and Heritage use different induction architectures. Features such as MoveMode®, MyZone®, HeatShift® and PanBoost® vary by family and model.
  • Pro Harmony® & Pro Grand®
    Pro Harmony® is the standard-depth professional-style residential range family; Pro Grand® uses a deeper commercial-depth residential design. Commercial depth is a Thermador product description, not commercial restaurant equipment.

Built-In Ovens

Masterpiece® & Professional Ovens

Convection, steam-convection, speed-oven and combination configurations. Masterpiece® includes conventional front-opening and applicable left- or right-side-opening designs; Professional uses a more traditional professional-style exterior treatment. These are different from Pro Harmony® and Pro Grand® ranges.

Gas, Induction & Rangetops

Gas cooktops in 30 and 36 inch widths and professional-style rangetops in 30, 36 and 48 inch widths, with Star® Burner technology and ExtraLow® capability on applicable models. Induction cooktops span Freedom®, Liberty® and Heritage in applicable 30 and 36 inch sizes.

Radiance Dishwashers

Star Sapphire®, Sapphire® & Emerald®

Applicable Star Sapphire® and Sapphire® models use a Zone Control Spray Arm, PowerWash™ and StarDry™ with Zeolite. The Chef's Tool Drawer® is a third-rack storage feature for utensils, not a wash arm. AquaStop®, Sapphire Glow®, Multi-Color Star Glow, Blue PowerBeam® and Sens-A-Wash® vary by model, and sound level varies by tier and exact model.

Induction Ranges

Thermador Induction Ranges

Induction ranges in professional-style Pro Harmony® Liberty® configurations as well as a Masterpiece® slide-in format. Cooking-zone architecture, oven capacity, controls and connected features vary by model. Thermador continues to evolve the Freedom® column platform, with newer generations introducing updated fresh-food, freezer and wine-column configurations; exact service information depends on the model number.

If you approve the repair, the service call and diagnostic are waived. Where appropriate, appliance operation is checked after repair work is completed. Qualifying repairs include a 90-day parts and labor warranty.
