Longer Dry Times Deserve Attention

If clothes are taking noticeably longer to dry, the appliance or its venting may need attention. A damaged, crushed or restricted dryer vent can reduce airflow and contribute to overheating. Keep the lint filter clean and check that the accessible vent connection is not crushed or visibly restricted. If the dryer is unusually hot, smells like something is burning, or shows another unsafe condition, stop using it until the cause can be evaluated. Call 561.933.9955.

Interactive Diagnosis

Which one is misbehaving? Start here.

Pick the appliance, then the symptom. Choose the appliance and symptom that sound closest to what you’re seeing. We’ll show you useful observations and when professional laundry-appliance service may be appropriate.

Cycle Stage Tracer

Where the cycle stops can provide a useful clue.

Washers and dryers move through several operating stages. Noting where the cycle stops or changes can help describe the problem, but it does not identify the failed component by itself.

Dryer Vent Restriction Check

Could the venting be affecting dryer performance?

Long or restricted dryer exhaust runs can affect airflow and drying performance. Use this tool as a general screening guide, then compare the result with the dryer manufacturer’s installation instructions and applicable local requirements.

Material Problem, Regardless Of Length

The 35 foot baseline and the elbow deductions come from the International Residential Code, which sets the maximum developed length at 35 feet from the transition duct connection to the outlet, deducts 5 feet for each 90 degree bend and 2 feet 6 inches for each 45 degree bend, and requires smooth-interior metal duct 4 inches in diameter with any flexible transition duct kept under 8 feet and never concealed. Large-radius elbows deduct less than the figures used here, and the code permits a longer run only where the dryer manufacturer's installation instructions specifically allow it. Fire figures per InterNACHI citing NFPA and CPSC data. When airflow may be contributing to the symptom, accessible dryer venting conditions can be considered as part of the service visit. Cleaning, rebuilding or rerouting concealed ductwork may require a dedicated dryer-vent professional. Rebuilding or rerouting a duct run inside walls is a vent specialist's job, and we will tell you plainly if that is what yours needs.

What We Service

Washer & dryer types we work with.

For commercial, coin-operated or specialty laundry equipment, provide the brand and model so Appliance Crew can confirm service availability before booking. Every category is listed under all repair services.

Why A Specialist Matters

Two appliances, one very small room.

Laundry appliances combine moving components, water supply and drainage, and on dryers either gas or high-amperage electrical systems. Similar symptoms can come from the appliance, installation, load conditions or venting, which is why diagnosis comes before a repair recommendation.

Stacked and closet installations may also require additional access considerations.

Laundry Questions

Asked before every booking, answered here.

Not necessarily. Long dry times can be related to airflow or venting, load size, settings, heating components, sensors or other appliance conditions. Check the lint filter and visible vent connection first. The vent tool on this page can provide general guidance, but Appliance Crew diagnoses the dryer before identifying a failed component.
Restricted or damaged dryer venting can reduce airflow and contribute to overheating and fire risk. Keep the lint filter clean and make sure accessible venting is not crushed or visibly restricted. Dryer exhaust requirements can vary by installation and manufacturer, so the vent calculator on this page is a general guide rather than a code inspection.
A washer that does not spin can have several possible causes. If it is safe to do so, check that the load is reasonably balanced and that the visible drain hose is not kinked. Follow manufacturer instructions for any owner-accessible filter. If the problem continues, Appliance Crew can diagnose the appliance.
Not necessarily. Moisture, detergent residue and debris around the gasket or dispenser can contribute to odors. Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions for the washer, gasket and dispenser. If odor continues or standing water is present where it should not be, service may be appropriate.
Excessive movement can be related to load balance, leveling, installation or internal components. Stop using the washer if movement is severe enough that the appliance could damage hoses, nearby surfaces or connections. If the appliance was recently installed, confirm the installation requirements in the manufacturer instructions.
Appointment availability depends on location, technician availability and the day’s schedule. If no repair is performed, the service call is $69 residential or $129 commercial. Approve the repair and the service call and diagnostic are waived.
Appliance Crew works with stacked laundry units, laundry centers and closet installations within our service scope. Tell us about the installation when booking because access can affect the service process.
